As an active member of Hire Association Europe (HAE), we offer their HireSecure Loss & Damage Waiver product on compact plant hires (see Table 1 below). This product will be required for customers who do not have their own insurance or those customers whose insurance does not cover the equipment value to be hired.

In addition to the HireSecure Loss & Damage Waiver we offer our own HSS Loss & Damage Waiver product on high value equipment (see Table 2 below). This product will also be required for customers who do not have their own insurance or those customers whose insurance does not cover the equipment value to be hired.

The HireSecure and HSS waivers will be charged with the addition of a Loss & Damage Waiver which involves adding a percentage to each eligible hire. By selecting the Waiver, you will have to agree to the HSS & HAE Hire Secure and Loss & Damage Waiver terms and conditions of hire, together with the terms and conditions of Hire Services (Southern) Ltd.

This is not an insurance product but is a contractual arrangement that removes your responsibility in the event of loss or damage to the hired equipment. This can provide peace of mind for those customers who do not have their own insurance or the appropriate level of cover.

Loss & Damage Waiver for Cash Customers

• In order for the Loss & Damage waivers to be applied to eligible equipment we will need to carry out a security check each time you hire. Each time you will need to visit us in store and we will require the following for inspection:
  • Photo drivers license (or another official, government issued photo ID containing your current address)
  • 1 x Utility bills (Bank statement, council tax bill, existing insurance policy document etc.). These must:
    • Be no more than 3 months old
    • All show the same address
• Ask a member of our Hire & Sales team about our HSS Cash Accounts for easier hiring

HSS and HireSecure Loss & Damage Waiver for Credit Account Customers

• If you are not an existing Credit Account Customer and would like to open an account and have the HSS and HireSecure Loss & Damage Waiver automatically applied to the pieces of hire equipment that we offer it on please complete our Account Application form.
• If you are already a Credit Account Customer and would like to have HSS & HireSecure Loss & Damage Waiver automatically applied to the pieces of hire equipment that we offer it on please complete our HSS & HireSecure Waiver for Existing Credit Account Customers form.

Cancellation

• If at any time you wish to cancel the HSS and HireSecure Loss & Damage waiver this must be done by e-mailing our Accounts team. By doing so HSS and HireSecure Loss & Damage waivers will no longer be applied to any new hires (existing hires will still be subject to the waivers until the hire is terminated). 
• We will require a copy of your replacement "Hired-In Plant" insurance policy to allow new hires on the account.

HSS and HireSecure Loss & Damage Waiver Pricing

• The HSS and HireSecure Loss & Damage waivers are charged at 15% of the invoiced hire charge exclusive of VAT.
• The waiver is subject to VAT at the standard rate.
